I’m Jeanine Springer, Founder, HANKServices. HANKServices is a long-time dream of mine, born in part out of my childhood experiences as well as my present-day life. When I was growing up in neighboring Garden City, there was an organization named PAVES that matched teens to odd jobs in the community.
While the idea for Chores & Chat initially grew out of research, the program itself came about from my hiring of a neighborhood kid, our first Student Advisor Representative, Juliana, to help with odds and ends around my house and garden. Juliana has been helping me for 3 years, and we’ve grown to know and respect each other in that time.
I am looking forward to helping today’s youth get prepared for the workplace, be able to work with a variety of people and become comfortable with intergenerational relationships in the workplace. I hope HANKServices gives them the experience of a lifetime.
I’m looking forward to implementing HANKServices and getting to know my community better.
